Students from St. Andrew High School today 5th June 2025 joins the Diocesan call to Planting of trees to commemorate Arbour Day by planting breadfruit (mei) , lemon trees (kola) and soursop (apele initia) trees (20) on Arbour Day within the school compound and teachers staff residents.
It’s tropical fruit trees which are very useful for everyday life in the islands enhancing food security and local medicine especially the very popular breadfruit (Mafala variant) can feed multiple households when in season.
The school acknowledges the provision of seedlings which were purchased by the Anglican Missions and is happy to be part of the Diocese of Polynesia’s call to commemorate Arbour Day with the hope it is celebrated yearly as a reminder of our role as caregivers of God’s Creation.
